Louvre museum attacker was Egyptian national?

Paris, Feb 4 (IBNS): The man, who attempted to attack the Louvre museum in Paris on Friday, was an Egyptian nation, French officials were quoted saying by the media.

Prosecutor Francois Molins was quoted as saying by BBC that the attacker is thought to have travelled to Paris from Dubai on a tourist visa last month.

A soldier shot the machete-wielding attacker, leaving him injured on Friday.

Hundreds of visitors were present inside the Louvre museum when the incident took place.

Reacting to the incident, US President Donald Trump tweeted: "A new radical Islamic terrorist has just attacked in Louvre Museum in Paris. Tourists were locked down. France on edge again. GET SMART U.S."
