New Delhi, Sep 4 (IBNS): The 1200 MW Anuppur power plant in Madhya Pradesh has been operating at a record 90 per cent and above availability during the current financial year, MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Limited, a special purpose vehicle, said in a recent release.

The Anuppur plant, commissioned in July 2015, is the first Phase (1200 MW) of the 2520 MW thermal power plant being set up by the company.

According to the company, the record was achieved on the back of efficient project management and usage of state-of-the-art technology.

The power project has been commissioned using one of its kind Hydro bins and ESP technology allowing higher efficiency and availability.

The project is among the top operational independent power producers (IPP) in the country that are operating at higher efficiency levels than the industry bench mark.

Said a company spokesperson, “The higher availability of power from the plant allows customers in MP, UP and Haryana to achieve their vision of 24X7 power for all. The company is committed to its vision and to be an able partner in transforming lives with affordable and  reliable  energy.”

This project is strategically located near coalfields of South Eastern Coalfields and is close to power deficit markets.

The project has received environment and other statutory clearances.

The SPV has been recognized with many awards, including the National Safety Council award for implementing effective occupational safety and health practices.

The plant has achieved critical milestones in terms of land acquisition, coal and water linkage, securing various statutory and other clearances ahead of schedule, the company said.
