ITI Ltd bags LoIs worth Rs 37.5 cr for Solar Street light Systems in Bihar
Bengaluru/Naini: ITI Limited, the country’s first PSU post-independence and premier telecom manufacturing company has received LoIs worth Rs. 37.5 Crores from Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA) for the installation of Solar Street light Systems.
Details of the LOIs
ITI Limited’s Naini Unit has received LOIs for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning with a Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC for 5 years) including Remote Monitoring System (RMS) of 2800 Solar Streetlight Systems from DPRO Katihar amounting to Rs. 8.58 Cr under Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana.
ITI Limited’s Naini Unit has received another LoI for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning with a Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC for 5 years) including Remote Monitoring System (RMS) of 9440 Solar Street light Systems from DPRO Katihar amounting to Rs. 28.94 Cr under Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana.
These systems are to be installed under the supervision of the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA) and the major Components of the Solar Street light Systems are Solar PV Modules, Solar Batteries, LED Luminaries, Mounting Structures, Balance of System (BOS).

“ITI Limited has acquired rich experience in successfully supplying and installing Solar Street Light Systems in Bihar since last year.”
ITI Limited’s Naini Unit is already manufacturing solar panels that can harness solar power up to 400W.
In terms of yearly production, Naini Unit manufactures solar panels, which can harness 18 Mega Watt (MW) of solar energy which comes to around 55,000 panels per year.
With the enhanced capacity (500 MW), the unit will start manufacturing around 15,00,000 panels per year.
