IamHere: Your neighbourhood mobile app to connect people, businesses and causes

Bengaluru, Sept 19 (IBNS): Aiming to connect people and resources locally, a socio-business application named ‘IamHere’ has hit the market facilitating location-based discovery and collaboration of hobbies, interests, businesses and causes across a digital platform.

The innovation will enable one to connect with like-minded people as also find potential customers near you in a quick and easy way.

“While Facebook and Twitter have connected us virtually across the globe, they have fallen short of connecting us to our neighbourhoods. How about finding a fellow tennis player who lives in your vicinity? Finding someone nearby that is working on an interesting social cause? Or getting connected to your school alum who might be staying in the same apartment as you are. With IamHere mobile application, finding someone is now just a tap away,” explains Bangalore-based entrepreneur Naren Kumar while speaking about his digital innovation.

IamHere hit the market in December 2017 and has about 20,000 users today who have done 3 lakh searches on the application so far. IamHere is launching a dedicated vertical for the social sector and this is slated to be available early next month.

The digital platform will allow non-profits to register themselves and connect with individuals/corporates who are willing to donate time, material or money for a particular cause. Partnering with Guidestar, the CSOs can get onboarded by undergoing a simple verification process.

Talking about the innovation, Naren said, “Technology has created a fully connected world but not with our neighbours. IamHere merges the real and virtual world creating a hyper-local social marketplace that is free from brokers.”

“IamHere enables users to create Avatars on the map for business, hobby, interest or social cause, and get connected with each other through search, chats, stories, promotions, and events - with Privacy. We have people forming cricket teams through our app, consumers connecting with tailors, businesses hiring sales executives, small entrepreneurs doing hyperlocal promotions, colleges doing events, NGOs creating their collection centers and running campaigns – all on the IamHere app,” he added.

IamHere is adding 5,000 new users every month and is expecting 10,000 new NGOs to get onboarded in the next three months.

The application is being widely regarded as a potent tool to start a new way of connecting with each other in the social sector.

“We have always wanted to make it easy for people to find and connect with NGOs. People would give their money, material and time so much more, if only they could see NGOs nearby, like cars on the Uber app or restaurants on Google maps. When we saw IamHere, we knew it could be the start of a revolution in the social sector,” opined Pushpa Aman Singh, Founder & CEO, Guidestar India

Talking about the utility of the digital invention, Chenthil Kumar, Aeronautical Engineer and Bhumi Volunteer said, “On the IamHere app, I find cyclists and runners with whom I don’t just discuss, but actually cycle and run with every day. During events, IamHere helps us to find our audience and enable registration, live tracking and communication, all very seamlessly.”

Key features of IamHere:

Discover People on the map: Search for people on the map for hobbies, interests and businesses

Connect through Direct Chats and Calls: Directly ping or call businesses and people nearby

Share Stories: Share image stories and business promotions with people in the neighbourhood

Connect through Events: Create events, invite people and manage registration & communication

This social sector vertical of IamHere in the form of “Causes” is to be launched during Daan Utsav – India’s festival of giving held every year between October 2 – October 8.
