Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank merge with Bank of Baroda, effective from today
Mumbai, Apr 1 (IBNS): The merger of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda came into effect on Monday, media reports said.
Now all branches of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank will function as the branches of Bank of Baroda.
The cabinet had approved the merger in January.
Though an appeal was made by the employees of the two merging banks in the Supreme Court, the plea was rejected.
Following the merge, Bank of Baroda is the third largest bank in the country.
