Ahead of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget presentation, Sensex trades above 40,000

New Delhi, July 5 (IBNS): On a day when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present her maiden Union Budget, the benchmark indices are trading higher on Friday.

Just hours before the Minister will present her budget, Sensex traded above the 40,000-mark.

In the morning,  the S&P BSE Sensex moved up by 100 points, or 0.25 per cent, to touch 40,008.

Nifty50 index, on the other hand, added 30 points to move around  11,977 levels.
