Mumbai, Mar 9 (IBNS): The Indian market closed flat with positive bias on Thursday ahead of the exit poll outcome of the five states that recently went for their state Assembly polls, according to media reports.

Actual results will be announced on Saturday.

The BSE Sensex was up 27.19 points at 28929.13 and the NSE Nifty was up 2.70 points at 8927.

Some of the key stocks that gained on Thursday were SBI, Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and Asian Paints while Dr Reddy's Labs, Adani Ports, ONGC, Wipro, GAIL and Tata Steel declined.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  announced on Thursday that it will shortly issue ₹ 10 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 with inset letter 'L' in both the number panels, bearing the signature of Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, and the year of printing ‘2017’ printed on the reverse of the banknote.

The numerals in both the number panels of these banknotes are in the ascending size from left to right while the first three alpha-numeric characters (prefix) remain constant in size.

All the banknotes in the denomination of rupees 10 issued by RBI in the past will continue to be legal tender, the central bank said in its release.
