Indian Market: Sensex recovers 289 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday smartly recovered by 289 pts at 46,249.24 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 87.65 pts to 13,565.95.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 46,270.38 and 46024.76 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 13,567.65 and 13,505.15 respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.54 pc and Small Cup by 0.94 pc respectively.

In 30 scrips 25 advanced while 5declined.

The gainers were ONGC by 8.52 pc to Rs 99.40, NTPC by 2.67 pc to Rs 99.85, L and T by 1.99 pc to Rs 1214, ITC by 1.83 pc to Rs 216.60 and SBI by 1.61 pc to Rs 273.95.

The losers were Asian Paints by 0.62 pc to Rs 2513.55, Nestle India by 0.33 pc to Rs 18,292, Infosys by 0.28 pc to Rs 1164.20 and Tech Mahindra by 0.24 pc to Rs 925.50.
