Indian Market: Sensex up by 113.87 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday gained by 113 pts at 39,014.67 in opening trade following gains in IT, Telecom, Technologies and Health Care stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 35 pts to 11,505.30.

Though the Sensex opened in red, easing by 8 pts to 38,892.64, it immediately reversed, and improved on the strength of IT, Telecom, Technology stocks.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 39,030.33 and 38,818.17 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,520.45 and 11,449.30 respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.67 pc and Small Cap by 1.11 pc.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Ultracemco by 2.92 pc to Rs 4025.65, Tech Mahindra by 1.49 pc to Rs 739.05, ONGC by 1.45 pc to Rs 80.50, Tata Steel by 1.20 pc to Rs 434.15 and Infosys by 1.16 pc to Rs 924.95.

The losers were SBI by 1.77 pc to Rs 214.25, HDFC by 1.06 pc to Rs 1830.85, Bajaj Auto by 1 pc to Rs 2929.35 and NTPC by 0.90 pc to Rs 99.
