Indian Market: Sensex up over 200 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied by 287.45 points at 58,541.23 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too rose 101.15 pts at 17,455.20.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 58,662.57 and 58,306.45 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,478.60 and 17,383.30 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.25 pc and Small Cap by 0.56 pc.

In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.

The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 1.64 pc to Rs 754.45, Wipro by 1.11 pc to Rs 723.15, L& T by 1.02 pc to Rs 1914.40, Asian Paints by 0.98 pc to Rs 3415 and Tech Mahindra by 0.97 pc to Rs 1808.55.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 0.59 pc to Rs 882.40, Dr Reddy's Lab by 0.38 pc to Rs 4890, Titan by 0.25 pc to Rs 2517.95 and Hind Unilever by 0.12 pc to Rs 2356.95.
