Indian Rupee down 15 paise against USD

Mumbai: The Rupee on Wednesday dropped 15 paise to close at 82.02 on brisk demand for the US Dollar by bankers and importers despite a positive equity market, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

In early trade, the local unit fell 12 paise to 81.99 and finished negative at 82.02, sliding 15 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 81.88 and 82.05, respectively, the dealer added.
