Marc Llistosella to become new head of Daimler Trucks Asia

Chennai/ Kawasaki/Stuttgart, Dec 17 (IBNS): Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV). the 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, together with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), has announced management changes to take effect in March and April next Year.

Albert Kirchmann (58), currently Head of Daimler Trucks Asia, will become Chairman of Daimler Trucks Asia as of April 1, 2015.

In this position, he will consult and support the company’s strategic development and will continue to represent Daimler on the political level as well as in industry associations in Japan.

Working in the company since 1984, Kirchmann has held various leadership positions in the areas of planning, controlling, and strategy over many years. He assumed his current position in June 2009.

His growth strategy ‘Fuso 2015’ has sustainably strengthened MFTBC’s competitiveness and has set up a Fuso model range that fits extremely well with our customers in Japan and in our export markets. Under his leadership, our Asia business has successfully grown together under the roof of Daimler Trucks Asia”, Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Daimler Board of Management with responsibility for Daimler Trucks & Buses, said.

Marc Llistosella (47), currently Head of Marketing, Sales &After-sales, Trucks Asia & Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), becomes new Head of Daimler Trucks Asia (Fuso and BharatBenz) on April 1, 2015.

In his new position he will directly report to Wolfgang Bernhard. Llistosella has been leading DICV right from a planning phase as a Greenfield Project. He built the organization, the plant and led the development of a whole new product range under the brand BharatBenz for the Indian market as well as Fuso trucks for markets in Asia and Africa.

Under his leadership the company has become a fully established player in the Indian CV market. In his current function he leads all Marketing, Sales & Aftersales-related areas of Daimler Trucks Asia and oversees DICV’s Indian operations by bringing in his passion and deep understanding of the Asian truck industry. His successor at DICV Erich Nesselhauf remains CEO and managing director of DICV and continues to report directly to Marc Llistosella also in the new role. 

“Within a very short time, Marc Llistosella has firmly established the BharatBenz brand in the Indian commercial vehicle industry. Developing a tailored product portfolio, he proved that he understands the customers’ demands very well. Along with Albert Kirchmann, he is one of the architects of Daimler Trucks Asia”, Bernhard said.

“I am convinced Marc Llistosella will manage the continuity and sustainability of our achievements and has the ability to set new initiatives in times of new challenges with his profound Asia know-how”,  Kirchmann underlined.

Michael Kamper (49), currently Managing Director Trucks at Mercedes-Benz UK, will become new Head of Marketing, Sales & Customer Services Trucks Asia as of March 1, 2015.

In the company since 1995, Kamper has proven his expertise in truck business in various leading positions in product management and marketing.

These changes have been decided by the Board of Management, Daimler AG, and are subject to approval by the Board of Directors and the Shareholder’s Meeting of MFTBC.
