Ratan Tata appointed to Interpol Foundation board
New Delhi, Nov 14 (IBNS) Ratan N Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons has agreed to sit on the board of trustees and contribute to two of the initiatives - Protecting Cultural Property and Heritage and Modernizing Channels of International Judicial Cooperation.
Interpol Foundation for a Safer World, backed by INTERPOL has announced five global initiatives that are aimed at combatting crime and terrorist activities.
The five initiatives introduced by Interpol Foundation are:
1. Protecting Cultural Property and Heritage (fighting against illicit trafficking and preserving the sustainability of cultural goods and works of art)
2. Modernizing Channels of International Judicial Cooperation (adopting electronic formats to request and transmit extradition and mutual legal assistance requests)
3. I- Checkit (Protecting airlines, hotels, banks from threats of Identity Fraud)
4. Protecting Banks & Financial Institutions
5. Invex (fight against transnational vehicle crime and theft)
