Seminar on tea trade and industry held at ILEAD

Kolkata, Aug 23 (IBNS) A seminar on Opportunities in Tea Trade & Industry at iLEAD was held on Thursday at the iLEAD campus in Kolkata.
The seminar aimed at promoting entrepreneurship by sensitizing businessmen, working professionals, young students and existing tea industry people on the various business opportunities available today in this trade. 
 
The seminar  covered different aspects of tea trade and also some innovative business model in the tea industry, both nationally and internationally, that can be duplicated by the existing players of the industry or budding entrepreneurs and young students. Piyush Desai, Managing Director of Wagh Bakri Chai was the Chief Guest for the seminar and the speakers for the event were  Monojit Dasgupta, Secretary, Indian Tea Associstion;   Debashish Sen, The Oodlabari Company Limited;  Ajit Sen, Premier’s Tea;   Arun Singh, MD, Goodricke Tea;  Rajeev Baid, Apex Tea Exports Pvt Ltd.;  Rohan Sirohia, Goodwyn Tea; Ms. Moumita Choudhury, Sumedha Fiscal Limited;  Rishav Kanoi, owner of Tea Trove; Sanjay Prakash Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ambootia Tea Group;  Dipan Mitra, Business Development-SME, National Stock Exchange of India Ltd;  Hari Subramanium Founder of Ontrack Systems Limited, and Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD. 
 
Chopra said, "The tea industry has grown significantly in both National and International markets. Globalization has provided endless opportunities to enlarge trade in this industry. 
 
"People need to establish closer links with economies with growing population and increasing disposable incomes , thus leading to higher demand for tea."
