IGNOU to host 27th convocation

New Delhi, Apr 4 (IBNS): The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is all set to hold its 27th Convocation on Apr 16 here, for the students passing in December 2012 and June 2013 Term End Examinations (TEE).
Ashok Thakur, Additional Secretary, Higher Education, Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development, will deliver the convocation address.
 
Moreover, Vijitha Nanayakkara, Vice Chancellor, The Open University of Sri Lanka will also be present as the Guest of Honour.  
 
Prof. M. Aslam, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU will preside over the function.
 
The 27th convocation will be held at the Convention Centre in IGNOU’s main campus at Maidan Garhi from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM
 
It will simultaneously be organized at the 53 Regional Centres, wherever the number of candidates attending the convocation is expected to be 100 or more.
 
The students have to get themselves registered for the 27th Convocation by paying Rs.400 per degree / certificate at the convocation. 
 
Award of Gold medals to the meritorious students will be given for December 2012 and June 2013 Term End Examinations.  
 
In addition to that, special awards will also be presented such as Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Gold Medal, Indian Bank sponsored Gold and Silver Medals, CEMCA Cash Award, Mother Teresa Cash Award and Prof. R. K. Grover Endowment Cash Award, etc.
