British Council to host series of events as part of work in school education

New Delhi, Nov 27 (IBNS) The British Council will be hosting a series of events as a part of their work in school education from Friday.

“We work with a wide range of schools across India in public and private sectors through projects, events, courses, workshops and on digital resources and platforms,” the Council said in a statement.

“From quality enhancement in English language teaching, policy level engagement to head teachers’ leadership skills development, teachers’ continuing professional development, student competitions, school-to-school partnerships; the British Council brings the best of UK expertise and innovation in school education and facilitates mutually beneficial relationships between school systems and professionals in India and the UK,” it said.

The School Award Ceremony will be attended by close to 850 people from about 300 schools across India. The schools will be accredited with the International School Award. British Council looks forward to warmly welcoming you at the events.

Launch of Innovations in the Continuing Professional Development of English Language teachers, edited by David Hayes
Book launch being conducted simultaneously in London and Delhi
This is the first instance where one of British Council’s global publications is being launched simultaneously in India along with the UK.
The book will be launched by Prof. Santosh Panda, Chairperson, National Council of Teacher Education
British Council spokespersons Rob Lynes, Director India, and Alison Barrett, Director, English for Education Systems, South Asia, will be present along with prominent personalities like Amol Padwad, Head, Department of English, J.M. Patel College, Bhandara  and Prof. Rama Mathew, Dean – Faculty of Education, Delhi University, Delhi

The British Council is organising the Quality Standards in Education conference, to bring together institutions and individuals who have a stake in promoting quality standards in education, particularly in private sector English medium primary and secondary education
The objectives of the conference are to advance the discussion around systems of quality assurance at the institutional level, to examine what can contribute to educational quality and to explore the benefits of professional association for English medium schools.
Speakers include senior representatives from NCERT, CBSE, NABET, AI-NET, NCTE, IATEFL, English UK and Accreditation UK.
