Jamia introduces disaster management course

New Delhi,May 1 (IBNS): Jamia Millia Islamia's Department of Geography has introduced Diploma in Disaster Management course.

"The “Diploma in Disaster Management” introduced in 2015 by Department of Geography, Jamia Millia Islamia is designed to support Government of India’s strategy for disaster risk reduction by institutionalizing teaching, research and training in disaster management," the university said in a statement.

Speaking on the issue of employability, the university said: "Due to its multi disciplinary approach, the diploma is capable of capturing the requirement of knowledgeable and trained personals from all fields like  Disaster Management Institutes, Surveyors  for Civil Engineering and RRI, Pollution Control Boards, Forestry department, Soil and Agriculture Division, Remote Sensing/GIS Institutes, Planning Departments, Metrological Department, Geological Survey of India, Population and Migration Studies Institutes, Social organizations, Defence and Military,  Primary Health Care Service Sectors and NGO etc."

The last date for submission of on-line Application Form is May 4
