SEIF launches participative educational program for school children

Gurgaon, July 21 (IBNS): Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF) on Monday announced the launch of a participative educational program for school children on energy saving.
The programme is a joint initiative by Conserve my Planet (a hallmark program within the Schneider Electric India Foundation) in partnership with School Health Annual Report Program (SHARP) in 6 major cities of India for the academic year 2014-15.
 
The launch has been marked with the capacity building program for the selected 62 schools from 6 cities,  Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Haryana, with more than 120 teachers deputed from the esteemed school campuses will undergo a training on two modules on energy saving- Conserve at Home and Campus from July 17 till 30.
 
The teachers will then train the selected students from Grade 5-7 , 10 to 13 years of students at each campuses who will be called as the “ Green Ambassadors” to sensitize the school and communities on energy saving through fun filled sessions and activities in and outside the school campuses.
 
Speaking on this occasion, Shalini Sarin, Country Partner- VP HR & CSR, Schneider Electric India said, “Energy and climate change are crucial challenges for our planet. It is possible to achieve more with fewer resources, starting now! By supporting innovative projects like Conserve My Planet for the school children, the Schneider Electric Foundation is committed to helping find solutions."
 
The Program Conserve My Planet has been designed to address this global issue while giving back to the society.
