The last date for online registration is June 15.

This full time 6-month residential programme has been designed by the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) ofXLRI to provide competency-based education to the candidates with a view to promoting entrepreneurship having equipped them with the essential conceptual and operational skills required for running an entrepreneurial venture successfully.

Besides the usual inputs on functional areas of business like finance, marketing, human resource management, economics and strategy, the curriculum focuses on specific relevant topics in entrepreneurship in India like family business, techno-entrepreneurship and agribusiness management.

The programme also includes a separate subject on Social enterprises which has evolved as a distinct form of entrepreneurial ventures in the country with the objective to impart and enhance entrepreneurial skills and instill an integrative approach to business.   The programme also includes a Project Formulation component under the mentorship of an expert member of the faculty to help the students to draw up a blueprint of action prior to the actual embarking on a business venture.

Prabal K. Sen, Chairperson, Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), XLRI- Xavier School of Management said, “The programme was launched in 2009 with ultimate objective is to create effective and successful entrepreneurs and to enhance the skills of those who are already functioning as entrepreneurs and to encourage critical and lateral thinking and integrate theory with practice. This year, the Institute is making efforts to increase the share of women candidates as well as those from the weaker sections of the society.”

“Being conscious of the need for an increased emphasis on promoting entrepreneurial talent in resource-rich but economically poor states like Jharkhand, 50% of seats in this programme have been reserved for candidates of Jharkhand State. This is also in conformity with a special agreement entered into between XLRI and the Government of Jharkhand. The remaining 50% are drawn from different parts of the country. Over 85 per cent of the graduating students across the last five batches have been operating their respective entrepreneurial ventures successfully. We expect the forthcoming batch of students too to turn out successful entrepreneurs,” Sen further added.
