RG Kar victim's family raises strong allegations against Kolkata Police
04 Sep 2024, 10:28 pmThe family members of the victim, who joined the protest at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have raised serious charges against the Kolkata Police questioning why the body was cremated in such a hurry despite the sensitivity of the case.
They alleged that the parents were taken to Principal's room and were asked to sign a white paper without being given proper information.
The victim's father said, "We were informed so late about the incident. Our daughter's body was taken for cremation even without our knowledge. Why was the police in such hurry? The police have been lying since the very beginning. They did not even let me pay for my daughter's cremation."

The parents alleged that they were offered money. "DC North took me to a deserated lane outside my house and offered me money. I not only declined the money but gave her a befitting reply," the victim's father said.
During a press meet, Abhaya's aunt even alleged that she was pushed to a corner. The family has urged the media to bring out more information and proof in the case that might be helful in the investigation.
