New Delhi/IBNS: As the total positive cases of the deadly Novel Coronavirus increased to 73, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Parliament on Thursday said the outbreak of the virus was a matter of concern, media reports said.

Kerala has recorded the maximum number of cases with the figure going up to 17.

In the wake of the sudden spike in the number of cases related to the Coronavirus, the Indian government on Wednesday issued a new travel advisory in which it suspended all visas to India till Apr 15.

Only diplomatic, official, United Nations/International Organisations, employment and project visas are exempted.

In the sixth meeting of the GoM under the chairpersonship of Union Minister of Health & Family WelfareHarsh Vardhan, it was decided that: "All existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/International Organizations, employment, project visas, stand suspended till 15th April 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure."

Any foreign national who intends to travel to India for compelling reason will have to contact the nearest Indian Mission.

All incoming travellers, including Indian nationals, arriving from or having visited China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany after 15th Feb shall be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has called the outbreak of the Coronavirus as "pandemic."

Jaishankar has recommended to stay away from travelling now.

Out of 73 infected people in India, three from Kerala have recovered.
