Delhi sent 40 buses to bring back stranded students from Kota: Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi government on Friday sent 40 buses to Rajasthan's Kota to bring back all stranded students who are from the national capital.
The students are stuck in Kota due to the anti-Covid-19 lockdown which had started on Mar 25.
In a press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "The students stranded in Kota were continuously requesting us to rescue them. After the central government's permission, we today sent 40 buses. We expect the stranded students will come back by tomorrow."
The CM said people from different states who are stranded in the national capital should not hurry to head back to their homes.
"I have been receiving calls regarding the steps taken to send back the people from UP, Bihar who are stuck in the national capital. I am in touch with all state governments. I will let everyone know about any decision if taken. But at this moment, no one should hurry," said the CM.
After a huge number of people were stuck in various states away from their homes due to the anti-Covid lockdown, the central government on last Wednesday allowed all stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students with no Coronavirus symptoms to head back to their home states.
The order came from the Centre as the country is set to partially exit from the lockdown mode post May 3.
All stranded people will be screened at the beginning of their journey as well as at their destination.
Moreover, the travellers will have to remain in home or institutional quarantine on arrival following the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
