India bans 47 more Chinese apps including TikTok Lite

New Delhi/IBNS: In another digital strike on China following the deadly Galwan Valley clash, India on Monday banned 47 more applications from the neighbouring country, media reports said.

Earlier in the wake of the Galwan clash, that had left at least 20 Indian personnel martyred, New Delhi had put a ban on 59 Chinese apps including the very popular TikTok.

The newly-banned apps include TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, SHAREitLIVE, BIGO LIVE Lite and VFY Lite.

As per reports, the 47 apps were acting as the clones of the earlier banned 59 apps.

The Indian government on Jun 29 had banned the 59 apps citing security concerns of the country.

Since early May 2020, the Chinese side has been hindering India's normal patrolling pattern in the LAC area in Ladakh.

In mid-May, the Chinese side attempted to transgress the LAC in other areas of the Western Sector of the India-China border areas and this was met with an appropriate response by the Indian forces.

Unconfirmed reports have claimed that around 45 Chinese soldiers had died in the Galwan clash, justifying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's words that the martyred Indian soldiers died attacking its opponent till the last breath.
