New Delhi/IBNS: After analysing the Covid-19 pandemic situation, India's Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday announced the class 10 and 12 examinations of the country's central board will begin on May 4, 2021.

Nishank said the examinations for schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are expected to be over by Jun 10.

The results can be expected by Jul 15, announced the country's Education Minister.

The class 10 and 12 examinations for the 2020-2021 academic year have been delayed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic which had swept the vast country of 1.3 billion people.

However, the country is reporting a steady decline in positive cases over the last several weeks.

India on Thursday added over 21,000 Covid-19 cases from across 36 states and union territories.

With 21,822 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 tally has touched 1,02,66,674.
