COVID-19 infected Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee now 'conscious, alert and talking sensibly'
Kolkata/IBNS: COVID-19 infected former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is now "conscious, alert and talking sensibly", the latest medical bulletin stated.
Bhattacharjee was admitted to Woodlands Hospital four days ago after his oxygen saturation level fell to 80-82 per cent.
The medical bulletin on Saturday stated, "He is on intermittent BIPAP with 3 litres of oxygen, SpO2 maintaining at 92%. He is presently conscious, alert and talking sensibly. He has (a) mild dry cough. Blood pressure is stable, he is having a heart rate of 60/min. Urine output is satisfactory.
"He is taking food orally. His capillary blood glucose levels are normal now. He is on Inj Clexane , Inj Solumedrol, Inj Remdesvir day 5 and other supportive measures."
Bhattacharjee, a senior Communist leader, remained the Chief Minister between 2001-2011.
