Karnataka minister V Somanna's 'I am flowing water' remark stokes curiosity
Bengaluru/UNI: Karnataka Housing Minister V Somanna's statement that he is not stagnant, but like flowing water has stoked speculation whether he will quit the BJP and join Congress.
"I am not stagnant water. I am flowing water. The people of the constituency have seen me as their own son. I am 72 years old now, I have nothing to do now. I am flowing water," he told reporters.
This statement comes following Somanna's non-inclusion in BJP's election management committee.
The minister also had abstained from attending the party's first Jana Sankalpa Ratha Yatra flagged off by national party president JP Nadda earlier this month.
Asked about his non-inclusion in the party's election management committee, Somanna said, "I will ot make any comments on it."
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been appointed the chairman of election campaign committee and BS Yediyurappa a member.
A team of 25 members has been formed and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has also been appointed.
The panels were formed by party's Karnataka incharge Arun Singh on the instructions of Nadda.
Elections to the 224-member Karnataka assembly elections are slated to be held this year.
