Bihar train accident: 4 killed, over 100 injured as North East Express derails in Buxar
Buxar/UNI: At least four passengers died and more than 100 were injured, some of them seriously, when several coaches of the 12506 North East Express derailed near Raghunathpur station under the Danapur Rail division in Bihar on Wednesday night.
Buxer District Magistrate Anshul Agarwal, while talking to the media on the spot, confirmed four deaths in the train mishap.
He said about 100 passengers were injured and had been rushed to various hospitals. The DM said that some of the seriously injured passengers were sent to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna, by special ambulances.
He said that the rescue operation was being carried out on war footing, and the passengers trapped inside the bogies were being evacuated.
Nearly six to eight coaches of the Kamakhya-bound 12506 North East Express derailed, and two overturned after the derailment near Raghunathpur station under the Danapur Rail division in Bihar at 21:35 hours last night.

According to the CPRO, senior railway officers, the medical team, and an accident relief van have reached the spot.
He said that the railway has set up helpline numbers in Patna which is 9771449971, Danapur 8905697493, and Ara 8306182542 for providing information to the passengers and their relatives.
According to him, a special train was being arranged to send the passengers to their destinations and would leave from Ara railway station.
Meanwhile, along with the administration, local people in large numbers were helping to rescue the passengers trapped in the ill-fated coaches.
Train services got disrupted on the up and down lines of the Delhi-Howrah rail division. Several trains plying on the route were halted at different railway stations.
