Ghazipur (UP)/IBNS/UNI: Security arrangements have been tightened in Ghazipur and Mau districts of Uttar Pradesh, with the body of mafia-turned-politician and former MLA Mukhtar Ansari likely to reach his native district of Ghazipur late on Friday night.

Police sources said that along with the local police, the movement of the Central Reserve Police Force and Rapid Action Force (RAF) has increased.

"At the same time, a team of LIU is also keeping an eye on the movement of the people."

Police sources said that while the local administration is continuously taking stock of the peace and order, a team of LIU is busy searching and identifying the suspects from the district headquarters, Mukhtar Ansari's residence, the cemetery, and the entire Mohammadabad Yusufpur town.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Omveer Singh said that strict security arrangements have been made after receiving information about the death of Mukhtar Ansari.

"Mukhtar's body is likely to reach Ghazipur by late night. His last rites will be performed on Saturday morning by his family members in the graveyard situated at Kali Bagh," he said.
