New York/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a grand welcome as he landed in New York on Saturday night (US time) following his participation at the Quad Summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Delaware.

"After programmes in Delaware, landed in New York. Eager to be among the diaspora at the community programme in the city and to take part in other programmes," PM Modi wrote on X.

In New York, the Prime Minister will address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly in New York and interact with Indian expatriates and American business leaders.

In his opening remarks at the sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit in the US's Delaware, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific is a shared objective of the Quad partners.

The sixth Quad Summit is hosted by US President Joe Biden, and is attended by the Prime Ministers of Australia Anthony Albanese, and of Japan Fumio Kishida besides PM Modi.

After arriving in the US, PM Modi held bilateral talks with President Biden at his Delaware home.

The talks were extremely fruitful, PM Modi said in a post after the meeting.

PM Modi also participated in the Quad Cancer Moonshot event hosted by Biden on the sidelines of the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware.

The United States earlier in the day returned 297 antiquities that had been stolen or trafficked from India during PM Modi's visit to Delaware.

In a symbolic handing over, a select few pieces were showcased to PM Modi and President Biden on the sidelines of their bilateral meeting in Wilmington, Delaware.
