Army deployed in Assam and Tripura

New Delhi/IBNS: Two columns of army have been deployed in Tripura's Manu and Kanchanpur and one column in Assam's Bongaigaon, media reported.

The army has been kept on standby in these places in order to support the law and order mechanism in case the situation detriorates.

The Northeast region is engulfed in massive protests against CAB.

Movement of vehicular traffic has been paralysed in Guwahati and other parts of Assam and North Eastern region during the bandh.

Shops and business establishments in many places, including in major parts of Guwahati, remained closed.
