Former PM of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba calls on PM Narendra Modi
Deuba thanked the Prime Minister for India’s quick reaction and assistance in the aftermath of two powerful earthquakes in Nepal.
Deuba appreciated India’s pledge of US$ 1 billion announced at the donors’ conference in Kathmandu in June 2015.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is fully committed to supporting Nepal in the reconstruction effort, and commended the people of Nepal for their resilience in facing this grave tragedy.
Deuba briefed the Prime Minister on the developments relating to adoption of a new Constitution in Nepal.
The Prime Minister appreciated the recent progress and expressed hope that outstanding issues would be resolved at the earliest, so that the Constitution that is adopted enjoys the support of all sections of the society and helps build an inclusive, stable and prosperous Nepal, the PMO said in a statement.
