Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana is fast inching towards tiding over the severity of the second wave of Covid-19 as the recovery rate has almost touched 94 percent.

While the pandemic is largely under control in rural areas, in urban pockets there has been a perceptible decline in new cases.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, who has been monitoring the day-to-day situation personally, has kept the administration on its toes with the singular aim of building adequate health infrastructure and most importantly within a given time frame.

Haryana touched a big milestone by setting up two 500-bed Covid hospitals in Panipat and Hisar within a short span of 2-3 weeks.

In 1310 villages of the state, a provision for more than 18,000 beds has been made in isolation centres.

The isolation centres have been equipped with basic medical facilities like the thermometer, BP instruments, oximeters among the rest.

In these isolation centres, 64,507 people have been put to Covid test out of which 2,704 were found positive whereas 40,598 were given basic treatment.

Simultaneously, the Test, Track and Treat campaign launched in the rural areas this month has started yielding positive results.

About 8,000 multidisciplinary teams have been constituted to conduct a door-to-door survey and examine more than 40 lakh families in villages.

The teams have so far covered 4,559 villages and have examined more than 64 lakh members of 14.46 lakh families.

The contribution of the Haryana police also came around when they launched a helpline dial 112 and aided in converting more than 440 Innova cars were into ambulances.

In the entire state at present 15001 oxygen beds, 5410 ventilators/ICU beds have been in operation. In the entire 22 districts in 526 Covid Care Centres, more than 65,000 beds have been arranged.
