Illegal casino busted in Kolkata, 32 arrested

Kolkata, Oct 15 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, police unearthed an illegal casino at Camac Street area under Shakespeare Sarani Police Station limits in south Kolkata on the wee hours of Friday and booked at least 32 persons from the casino, officials said.

According to reports, police conducted raid at Imperial Club on Camac Street Pantaloons building and busted the illegal casino, which was being run behind poker game.

"Besides busting the casino, we seized as many as 6.5 lakh rupees cash and numerous tokens worth 55 lakh rupees," a senior officer of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

"We arrested 32 persons, including club partners, manager, card dealers and players, from the casino," the official added.

All arrested were produced in a local court later on Friday and granted bail.
