IT raids at ten locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi ; Karnataka Minister's aide raided

Bengaluru, Aug 30 (IBNS) : Officials of the Income Tax Department are carrying out raids at ten different locations across Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi, media reports said.

Raids were also conducted at the residence of Congress leader Vijay Mulgund in Bengaluru. .

Mulgund was one of the Congress leaders who assisted Karnataka Minister DK Shivakumar in hosting and taking care of the Gujarat MLAs at the Bengaluru's Eagleton resort before the Rajya Sabha polls.

On August 2, ahead of the Gujarat Rajya Sabha elections, the I-T Department had raided Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar in a tax evasion case.

According to reports, over Rs 9 crore was recovered by I-T officials from multiple locations in the raids. The department is also investigating charges of his alleged role of money power and the huge transfer of illegal funds for these polls.
