Karnal doctor murder solved, three arrested

Karnal, Jul 7 (UNI) With the arrest of three people including a former employee of Amritdhara Hospital, Haryana police on Sunday claimed to have solve the murder case of Dr Rajiv Gupta.

Dr Gupta was shot dead on Saturday near Sector 16, here.

Karnal zone DIG Yogendra Singh Nehra told mediapersons that the police, within hours of the incident, arrested Pavan, Raman alias Sethi and Shiv Kumar.


He said that police has also recovered a pistol and a revolver from their possession.

Nehra said that Pavan has revealed in the interrogation that he used to work with Dr Gupta's hospital as dylesis operator since last ten years, however, in December he was removed from the job.

He also alleged that Doctor was not allowing him to get job anywhere else.

Nehra said that the three accused will be produced in the Court and police would ask for their remand as the they are yet to recover the bike used in murder.

Meanwhile, private hospitals in the state today remained shut, protesting the murder.

Indian Medical Association Jind chief Dr Ajay Goyal demanded Quick Response Team formation for the safety of Doctors.
