Kerala: 22-year-old woman stabbed to death by father two days ahead of her wedding

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 23 (IBNS): In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman from Kerala's Malappuram district was stabbed to death by her own father just two days ahead her wedding, media reports said. 

The woman has been identified as Athira and was about to get married.

On Thursday, the police confirmed the incident which took place in Malappuram district’s Keezhuparamba.

The father, Poovathikkandi Rajan, aged 42, was arrested soon.

He is a truck driver by profession.

According to reports, the father was against the marriage.

A day ahead of the wedding, Rajan and his daughter reportedly had an arguement following which, the father lost his cool and allegedly stabbed her daughter.
