Kolkata, Dec 25 (IBNS): A local train, which was going to Naihati in West Bengal North 24 Parganas district from Sealdah junction station, derailed near Dumdum station in Kolkata on Friday night, reports said.

According to reports, when the train was entering Dumdum station around 9:25 pm., its three coaches suddenly got derailed.

No casualty has been reported in the accident so far.

One passenger- Rick Ghosh- of the train, who was returning home with friends after celebrating Christmas in Kolkata, told IBNS: "It was a fatal experience. When the train was entering into Dumdum station's platform (line no.4), it suddenly derailed. Thanks god, me and my friends are safe. Few passengers got minor injuries. Luckily a dangerous accident has been avoided as the train's speed was very slow that time."

Train service in that line has been partly disrupted.

One senior official of Eastern Railways told IBNS, "Our engineers have rushed to the spot and our staffers are working there to recover the derailed coaches and clean the track as soon as possible. No casualty has been reported so far. Eastern Railway has started investigation into the matter."
