Maharashtra extends COVID-19 lockdown till July 31

Mumbai/IBNS: The Maharashtra government on Monday announced extension of lockdown to avoid spread of COVID-19 till July 31.

Maharashtra remains one of the worst hit states in the state.

With over 19,000 fresh Novel Coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours, India's Covid-19 tally on Monday neared 5.5 lakh.

The country of 1.3 billion people reported 19,459 cases taking the overall tally to 5,48,318.

With new 380 fatalities between Sunday and Monday mornings, the toll touched 16,475.

The three most-affected states continue to be Maharashtra (1,64,626), Delhi (83,077) and Tamil Nadu (82,275).

Amid the spike in Covid cases, all special trains in Tamil Nadu have been cancelled till Jul 15.
