Mamata Banerjee to visit Delhi, meet opposition leaders ahead of Parliament session

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Delhi between Nov 22 and 25 ahead of the winter session of the Parliament, which is scheduled to begin on Nov 29.

According to reports, Banerjee will meet opposition leaders to chalk out a strategy to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Parliament session.

The repeal of the farm laws is likely to be the highlight of the winter session of the Parliament.

The three farm laws, passed last year amid ruckus in the Parliament, are likely to be scrapped in the session after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the laws would be repealed.

Banerjee tweeted "heartfelt congratulations to every single farmer", and offered condolences to the families of the victims who had died during the protests.

Ever since she has defeated the BJP at West Bengal assembly elections, she is trying to join hands with other opposition parties to take on the saffron outfit in the 2024 general polls.

Banerjee visited Delhi in July last after Trinamool's stunning victory over the BJP in the April-May Bengal election.
