Man elopes with his mother-in-law in Bihar

Patna, Dec 17 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): A man in Bihar eloped with his own mother-in-law—the second such incident in the past six months.

Medi Mandal, a resident of Bhagalpur district in Bihar, recently married off his daughter Soni Kumari to Yogendra Singh from Etawah district in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh state, media reports said.

In the meanwhile, the man during his frequent trips to in-laws’ home fell in love with his mother-in-law Ruby Devi and finally eloped with her on Wednesday (December 14), leaving everyone stunned.

The matter came to light on Thursday when Mandal registered a formal complaint with the local police, urging the latter to help search for his missing wife.

“We are investigating the case,” said Sabour police station’s in-charge Neeraj Tiwari, entrusted with the task of investigation.

Earlier in June this year, another man from Bihar had eloped with his mother-in-law and eventually married her in a local court before finally filing a divorce petition.
