Nagaland government declares April 11 as paid holiday

Guwahati, Mar 27 (IBNS): The Nagaland government has declared Apr 11 as a paid holiday in view of Lok Sabha election.

Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy on Wednesday issued a notification stated that in accordance to Section 135B and Section 135B(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, 11th April, 2019 (Thursday), the day of polling for the forthcoming Parliamentary Election is declared as Paid Holiday to all the employees of Government, Private and Business Establishments in the state of Nagaland to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise.

However, this shall not apply to any elector whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which he is engaged.
