One injured in Kolkata multi-storey fire

Kolkata, Aug 20 (IBNS): Several people fell ill and one man was injured after a massive fire broke out at Weston Street area under Bowbazar Police Station limits in Kolkata, reports said.
According to reports, fire was first seen in the morning and fire tenders were called in.
 
As many as five fire tender engines, along with hydraulic ladder, and police rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after two hours.
 
During firefighting operation, one local man was injured and several other residents of the building fell sick during evacuation process, reports said. 
 
Locals alleged that fire tenders and ladder took nearly half an hour to reach the scene, while two fire stations- Lalbazar and Central Avenue- are located very close to the accident spot.
 
However, fire officials denied the allegation and fire and emergency services department has started investigation into the probe.
 
Several floors of the building and a car, parked under the multi-storey, were gutted in the incident.
