Patna, Oct 12 (IBNS/The Bihar Post): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not taken any leave right since taking over charge of the office in May 2014, an official report claimed.

According to reports available with the Prime Minister Office (PMO), no leave has been availed by the present Prime Minister Modi right since he took over the charge.

The PMO gave this information in response to a Right to Information (RTI) petition adding: “The Prime Minister can be said to be on duty all the time.”

The applicant also wanted to know if former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, H D Deve Gowda, I K Gujral, P V Narasimha Rao, Chandrashekhar, V P Singh and Rajiv Gandhi had availed any leave and were there any records of same.

An English daily Hindustan Times quoting a former cabinet secretary, however, says two former Prime Ministers, Rajiv Gandhi and AB Vajpayee had taken leaves during their tenures.
