Pranab condoles passing away of journalist Inder Malhotra

New Delhi, Jun 12 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of veteran journalist Inder Malhotra.
In a condolence message to his son, Anil Revri, the President has said, “I am sad to learn about the passing away of your father, Shri Inder Malhotra."
 
Malhotra was a doyen amongst Indian journalists. He was widely admired and respected for his scholarship, incisive commentaries as well as sharp journalistic skills. 
 
"During his long career, he set the highest standards of professionalism," Mukherjee said.
 
Malhotra had a long and distinguished career, especially with “The Statesman”, “The Times of India”, and “The Guardian”. 
 
In recognition of his services in the field of journalism, he was honoured with the Ramnath Goenka Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. 
 
"In his death, the nation has lost a veteran journalist who served as a role model for others in the profession," the President said. 
 
"Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to the rest of your family members. I pray to the Almighty to give you and other members of the family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss," said he.
