SC sends notice to Centre over Uttarakhand Guv plea

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a notice to the Narendra Modi government over Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi's plea questioning the government's pressure on him to quit the post.

This comes after the apex court agreed to examine  the petition filed by Qureshi, challenging the Narendra Modi-led NDA government’s push to make him quit the post.

The court has directed the Centre to file its response within six weeks.

Qureshi's plea has referred to a 5-judge Constitution Bench.

The Bench will reportedly hear the case after six weeks.
