Two civilians dead, 8 injured as Pakistani shells forward villages on LoC in Poonch

Jammu/UNI: Two people, including a woman, were killed and eight other civilians were injured on Tuesday as Pakistan troops violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Two people, including a woman, have been killed and eight suffered injuries in Ceasefire violation by the Pakistan in Bandi Chichi area of Poonch sector," Rahul Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Poonch here told UNI on telephone.

He said that injured people have been evacuated and rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Defence Spokesman here said that at about 1430 hours, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Shahpur and Kirni sectors of District Poonch.

"Indian Army is retaliating befittingly to cross border firing," he said.

On Nov 29 also Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing in Balakote sector of Poonch.
