UAE-based Indian girl planned to live stream suicide, rescued
Sharjah, Dec 22 (IBNS): The Sharjah Police have rescued an Indian national as she was planning to make a live video of her suicide at her family residence in Al Nahda area in the UAE, media reports said on Saturday.
According to reports, she was upset after she was mocked over images shared by her on the social media.
The cybercrime patrols of the Dubai Police notified their counterparts in Sharjah that they had detected a mysterious message circulating in the social media wherein a girl had declared that she would commit suicide and make a live video of it during midnight on Friday, as she was distressed at being trolled and cyber bullied in the social media, Colonel Faisal bin Nassar, deputy director of CID, was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.
The newspaper further said the Sharjah Police swung into action and raced against time to save the girl. It managed to identify the source and location from which the message was sent.
The police officers from CID and patrols department reached the girl's flat in a building located in Al Nahda and knocked at the door when it was opened by her father
The cops informed the father that they had come to rescue the girl as she was planning to commit suicide.
"When the police entered her room, they found the girl, sitting lonely in a dark corner, and apparently preparing herself to end her life," reported Khaleej Times.
