Union Cabinet to recommend President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh?
New Delhi, Jan 24 (IBNS): The Union Cabinet is likely to impose President's rule in the state of Arunachal Pradeh, media reports said on Sunday.
The political crisis in the state was discussed at a cabinet meeting on Sunday morning at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home, NDTV reported quoting sources.
"Sources say the government may not announce the dissolution of the assembly and favours that it remains in suspended animation," the report said.
On Dec 16-17, the state's Congress government lost a "no trust motion" passed by a group of rebel Congress and BJP lawmakers at an assembly session held at a hotel.
Out of the 47 Congress lawmakers in the 60-member assembly, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has the support of 26.
