Visa services network for Czech Republic expanded to Kolkata
Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, inaugurated the centre at a ceremony also attended by other key members from the Embassy and the company.
Prior to the launch of this centre, applicants were required to travel to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, or New Delhi, to apply for Schengen visas.
The new centre is the sixth such facility rolled out in a phased manner, to provide for the growing demands for visas to the country among Indian tourists.
Speaking about the launch, Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India said, “This is already the sixth major city in India where people can submit their Schengen visa applications for travel to the Czech Republic by going to the visa centres of VFS Global. We are thus delivering on our promises. And I can make one more. This is not yet the end of our endeavours as we will announce the opening of additional Czech Visa Applications Centres soon.”
VFS Global aims to support the client government in smoothly processing volumes of visa applications in India and to enhance accessibility to visa application facilities for leisure, MICE, and business travellers, so that the Embassy can focus on the key task of adjudication of visa applications.
Said Vinay Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global, "We are pleased to further enhance the visa services network for the Czech Republic in India, through this modern visa application facility in Kolkata. The popularity of the Czech Republic - home to historical and picturesque cities like Prague and Brno - only grows with every passing year, among an evolving generation of globetrotters in India. We are confident that the introduction of professional and hassle-free Czech Republic visa services in Kolkata will be well-received by aspiring travellers from this city.”
