West Bengal: Police arrests man for allegedly killing stepchild in Hooghly

Kolkata, Jan 8 (IBNS): Police on Saturday booked a middle-aged man for allegedly murdering his 12-year-old stepson and dumping his body on railway tracks in West Bengal's Hooghly district, reports said.

According to reports, sixth standard student of Chinsura Ramkrishna Vidyapith- Soumyajit Das, who went missing since Friday late evening, was found dead beside railway tracks between Chinsura and Hooghly railway stations on Saturday.

Basing on a complaint lodged by boy's mother, police arrested his stepfather- Arabinda Tanti.

"The murder might be outcome of a domestic dispute. We have started probe into the matter and are interrogating the arrested step-father," a senior official of Hooghly district police told IBNS.
